1) TIVOLI (RM) - HADRIANS'VILLA (55,00€) www.hadrian's villa.com
Hadrian’s Villa near Rome was built by Emperor Hadrian, starting from 117 A.D., as an imperial palace far away from the city of Rome. It is the most extensive ancient roman villa, covering an area of at least 80 hectares, more or less as Pompeii. In 1999 Villa Hadriana was appointed one of the Human Heritage Monuments by Unesco; as many other archaeological sites it is very famous, but still very little known in its essence, notwithstanding more than 500 years of excavations. A more scientific and modern approach to its study is a recent novelty.
2) TUSCANY - CAPALBIO (GR) (65,00€) www.tarotgarden.com
Tarot Garden Influenced by Gaudí´s Parc Güell in Barcelona, and the garden in Bomarzo, de Saint Phalle decided that she wanted to make something similar; a monumental sculpture park created by a woman. In 1979, she acquired some land in Garavicchio, Tuscany, about 100 km north-west of Rome along the coast. The garden, called Giardino dei Tarocchi in Italian, contains sculptures of the symbols found on Tarot cards. The garden took many years, and a considerable sum of money, to complete. It opened in 1998, after more than 20 years of work
3) CASERTA (CS) - THE ROYAL PALACE (70,00€) www.royalpalace.com
The Royal Palace is a former royal residence in Caserta, southern Italy, constructed for the Bourbon kings of Naples. It was the largest palace and one of the largest buildings erected in Europe during the eighteenth century. In 1997, the Palace was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, described in its nomination as "the swan song of the spectacular art of the Baroque, from which it adopted all the features needed to create the illusions of multidirectional space".
3) TUSCANY - ORBETELLO (GR) - LAGOON OF FENIGLIA (55,00€)
Orbetello rises on a thin strip of land located into the middle of the coastal lagoon. The small island where it stands is surrounded by the Levante and Pontente Lagoons, known respectively as Tombolo della Feniglia and Tombolo della Giannella. These offer the visitor many kilometers of charming beaches. Its boat-like shape anchored in the calm waters of the Lagoon is tied to the Monte Argentario Promontory area by an artificial dam built in 1841. It is a lively and busy town whose principal resource has always been fishing. It is no accident that local recipes featuring fish from the lagoon have become famous. Today, it has become an ever more popular spot for tourists. This is thanks to the beauty of the sea and the enhancement and preservation of its natural surroundings coupled with the Nature Reserve of the “Laguna di Orbetello”
